ULRICHs RECORD LABEL
I have received many questions about Lars Ulrich record company, so I decided to give you some info.
Lars started The Music Company in 1998 with former Metallica Tour Accountant, Tim
Duffy. The first signing to the label was Vancouver's DDT, who released their record,
"Urban Observer," in August of 1999. Goudie was discovered in the spring of 1998 at the
South by Southwest music conference in their hometown of Austin, Texas. Their new CD,
"Peep Show," was released in July 2000. Most recently, The Music Company signed
Systematic, a hard rock foursome from Oakland, California.
Goudie (rhymes with "howdy") has been compared to Radiohead, Placebo and Remy Zero. They
have also been described as a having "the sexual frustration of Garbage." Their CD, "Peep
Show," is in your local record store now. Check it out! Goudie is currently on tour in
the U.S. with Unified Theory. The remaining dates in August are:
Thursday, August 24th Fletcher's Baltimore, MD
Friday, August 25th The Saint Asbury Park, NJ
Saturday, August 26th Village Pub Port Jefferson, NY
Sunday, August 27th The Balcony Philadelphia, PA
Tuesday, August 29th Bill's Bar Boston, MA
Wednesday, August 30th Mercury Lounge NYC, NY
Systematic heads to Nashville, TN in September to make their first record. They have
chosen Peter Collins to produce. Peter has worked with Rush, Queensryche, Suicidal
Tendencies, and Alice Cooper. You may have seen Systematic earlier this summer on the
Tattoo the Earth tour or opening for The Union Underground.
You can order the CDs from CDNOW where you can listen to short cuts from the songs as well.
