METALLICA DIDN't WIN
Metallica didn't win any of the five categories they were nominated for in the MTV music award.
But Lars appeared at the end of the show, as anounced and presented the closing act, Blink 182.

- Best Video From A Film - Aaliyah: "Try Again" (Romeo Must Die)
- Best Special Effects In A Video - Bjork
- Best Editing In A Video - Aimee Man
- Best Cinematography In A Video - Macy Gray
