SLIPKNOT ABOUT METALLICA
In the October issue of Metal Edge 2000, the magazine interviewed Cory
from Slipknot about the bands view on todays music standards. During the
interview, he mentions this:
" You can sit down and talk to the fans about the shitty day they had
at school, or getting kicked out of the fucking mall for wearing a
T-shirt, or their friends not getting it, or living in a little shitty
small town and driving four hours to a show just to tell somebody that
their the only kid in your school that listens to slipknot, everyone
else makes fun of you and you dont give a fuck cause slipknot rules.
Thats very important. I remember being in the exact same boat with
Metallica and Iron Maden. Those were my fucking bands. And i talk to
older people who felt that way about KISS. Its generational. I remember
sitting in my room, Id jam to Master of Puppets before I was ready for
school and that prepared me for the bullshit that i had to go through.
That fucking band touches me. Alot of kids are looking at us for that.
Thats powerful shit...."
