METAL BLADE ANNIVERSARY
Over the past twenty years Metal Blade Records has introduced some of the most influential bands to the Metal masses. Starting the revolution in 1982 with release of a local artists compilation called "Metal Massacre", Metal Blade Records founder and now CEO, Brian Slagel, recognized the huge potential of numerous hard rock and Heavy Metal bands based in the Los Angeles area. Brian Slagel was the first person who got Metallicas signature on a contract. It was for the "Metal Massacre" album sampler where Metallica had a demo version of "Hit the lights".
To cellebrate the 20 years Metal Blade Records is going to the vaults and pulling out all the stops as they prepare to release a nine CD/one DVD Metal Blade Records 20th Anniversary Box set. For Metallica fans it will contain the original first version of "Hit the lights" which previously only have been available on the first edition of the vinyl album, as well as a Q&A with Lars Ulrich. There will also be unreleased material by Jasons first band Flotsam & Jetsam. To top it all off this is going to be a 5,000 print limited edition item that will be numbered.
