The search engine Lycos just released its Web's Top Music Groups list which is a ranking that reflect all music groups entered into the Lycos search engine by users between January 1 and November 23, 2002.
Metallica ended on the 9th spot this year, down from 7th last year. This might look bad in some eyes, but remember that Metallica didn't release any albums in these two years, and only played one secret concert. The band was on the 4th in 2000, and with a new album and tour comming up this year they should be in the top 3 next year.
