We all know that Jason Newsted has been a bussy person since he left Metallica. He is now also using some of his Metallica money on young musicians.
David Wish, a second grade teacher said he and other educators decided to do something about bringing "music education back into the lives of students where it belongs.''
The nonprofit, grassroots organization is sponsored by some powerful names in music, including Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King and Metallica's ex bass player Jason Newsted.
"Little Kids Rock'' provides guitar instruction and the guitars.
If students complete the course, they are allowed to keep the instrument.
