Just after finally getting to our seats and comfortable, Godsmack began. The band was getting slated to hell outside the arena beforehand, i myself overheard a few people calling the free sample CD's 'Beer mats'.
Godsmack were cool, even though their set seemed a little short. They had a cool Drum Dual as well, that was pretty ace.
From where we were sat, we saw James, Lars and Kirk walk up the stairs at
the back of the stage...so we were getting pretty preped for what was about to come, but when the lights cut out...nothing could prepare you for the amount of noise the crowd made, and by the time the ecstasy of gold faded out and the intro of blackened faded in...no one in the arena was sat down.
The most memoral moment of the night had to be this. Kirk Hammett finished off a closing solo to Seek and Destroy, the lights faded off and then the Intro to Fade To Black began and the crowd errupted. Lighters, screaming, shouting, crying...it was all there.
The solo for Dirty Window was quite impressive, as was the one they included in Frantic. St Anger went without such an adjustment.
The Pyro and Fireworks for One were so loud my ribs rumbled.
The band finally finished off with Hit The Lights, a good end to the best gig i have seen.
