I got there extra early to make sure I got right next to the stage. Godsmack opened up with a pretty killer set. What was awesome about GS was the drummer kept looking over and pointing at me and my friend because we were pretty much the only ones there going completely insane. Also their bassist kept comming over and standing in front of us, and checking us out, it was awesome.

AND THEN THERE WAS METALLICA! About 30 minutes after GodSmack was done Tallica came on and opened up with Blackened. James was using that kick-ass looking Les Paul with gold pinstripe and Iron Cross on it. Kirk came out and stood right in front of me and it was just friggin incredible. They were SO LOUD the sound was shooting through every inch of your body. One thing that was new was the intro to "ONE" where they use some audio from Full Metal Jacket. The pyro was INTENSE! I think everyone in the front had their ears plugged. ALso the solo that Kirk does thats really quick towards the end - he was right in fron of me when he busted that off - GREAT!. The only drawback to being right in front is the stupid MF'ers that try and shove their way up there and try to get next to you. There was one guy that made it miserable for about 6 people, thus I cannot remember very well the songs "I Disappear" and "St Anger" damnit. I did not expect to hear "Fight Fire With Fire", but it kicked ass! Bleeding Me was also an awesome surprise. The sound during that song sent shivers down my spine. Not to mention "The Wait" was a pleasant surprise too. Lars was a cool guy and brought someone from the audience up to do the first part of "Seek'".

One of the best moments is when I caught James' guitar pick!!! It says "Metallica" on one side, and "Tallica 4 Life" on the other. Awesome. I ended up pretty sore afterwards, but in conclusion I would pay $75 every day and go see them if I could. TOTALLY WORTH EVERY CENT! Metallica is an awesome band that is full of life and energy, and are in every way the Kings of what they do.
