GIG REPORT Location: Toronto, Canada Date: 6 Oct, 2004 Venue: Air Canada Center Other bands: Godsmack Report: Rob Elkerbout
I saw them last year at summer sanitarium, but this was waaaayy better. The set list was longer, the sound was louder and the crowd was crazyer.
We got there when Godsmack was on, not a big fan, but whatever. We just stayed in the bar area and drank some more. We made our way down to the floor around 8:00. My voice was already half gone from yelling so much around the ACC. The crowd went nuts as soon as Extacy of Gold started playing. The crowd was so loud you could barely make out the intro to blackened. What a great song. During master of puppets, I remember looking up at the crowd when James sang "Obey your master..." and EVERYONE, absolutely everyone had a fist or metal sign in the air yelling back "MASTER". That trend continued with all the songs. Rob did a wicked bass solo and mixed some of Orion into it. Kirk was awesome. He makes all those solos look so easy. Kirk and Rob made an effort to show off their skill to everyone. Rob even let some people touch his bass. The stage was nicely set up. There was almost always one of the boys in front of us. Even Lars' drum set moved around the whole stage. Lars has some huge skill. James was awesome. He got us all so pumped. The explosions before ONE were sooo loud. They completely shocked me. But that just made me yell more, and everyone else.
