The BBC has apologised to fans of Metallica after the broadcaster cut short their set during last week's Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium.
Many metal fans believed the decision was a snub for metal music. The BBC were keen to point out this was not the case, claiming the incident was not due to "prejudice about heavy metal music or any other music."
Instead, they noted that Live Earth "was a global event and we were keen to reflect the other concerts as well as the one in UK."
And they didn't help matters by spelling Metallica's name incorrectly in their statement: "We received complaints from some viewers that the Metalica [sic] set was not shown in full."
