Metallica played Ireland for the fourth time in six years last night at Marlay Park county Dublin.
This is the first time Metallica played the venue as they usually play the R.D.S when they visit Ireland.
In my opinion, it was their best performance to date. A lot of songs that haven't been played in a few years were included in the set (as seems to be the norm for this tour) and it went down extremely well with the crowd.
The pyros during the show (particulary the intro to "One") were awesome.
Metallica included "Whiskey in the Jar" in the set which was an especially nice touch- This being Ireland afterall!
The song "Cyanide" off the new album was well received by the crowd.
All in all, it was Metallica doing what they do best.
The setlist was as follows:
Creeping Death
For whom the bell tolls
Ride the Lightning
The memory remains
Sanitarium
Cyanide
...And justice for all
The four horsemen
Fade to black
Master of puppets
Whiskey in the jar
Nothing else matters
Sad but true
One
Enter sandman
-
Last caress
So what
Seek and destroy
