Metallica at the BBC
UK based radio station BBC Radio 1 are currently running registration for a really intimate Metallica gig at our London based Radio Theatre on September 14th - www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/metallica. With only about 300 in the audience, this really would be a unique opportunity for any Metallica fan.
However, the other news is that the day after the gig, there will be 5 hours of special coverage in our Metallica Night on Monday 15 September for fans to enjoy across the world.
From 7pm - 9pm BST, Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe will be talking to the band - and also interviewing the bands that influenced them and the artists they have influenced... There will also be cover versions and remixes and Lars' own guide to the albums they've made.
From 9pm - 10pm BST, you'll be able to hear Metallica's gig from the Radio Theatre, recorded on the Sunday night.
From 10pm - midnight BST, our Rock Show presenter Daniel P Carter continues the night including interviews with Black Tide and Max Cavalera PLUS he presents a 60 minute documentary about the band featuring brand new and archive interviews with every member of the band.
