Metallica played in front of 18.000 fans in London on the 15th of September to celebrate the new album. The gig had a low-key stage set-up with no pyrotechnics and included 5 tracks from the new album.
At one point James told the crowd to Put your phones away. "Putting a two-minute video of Metallica on YouTube isn't going to make you famous. Just enjoy the show." Metallica has released so much videomaterial for the Internet that there should be enough for everyone. The concert will soon be available for dowload at livemetallica.com.
All proceeds for the night - which cost fanclub members just £5 - went to music charity Youthmusic.org.uk.
