Lars Ulrich celebrated his 45th birthday on 26th of December. But that didn't stop his band and their road crew from starting the festivities a bit early.
A few days before the birthday, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, Ulrich got pie-eyed, so to speak. During the last song, Seek & Destroy, Ulrich, who must have suspected something was coming, got pelted with pies and covered in Silly String by his gleeful fellow band members and roadies.
