Meet the band backstage
Do you want to meet the band backstage? Join the fanclub now and you will have a good chance for a backstage pass next time you go to a show. I have met the band 3 times because I am a member. More info on how to join here. First in first served.

Here I am back in my home town of Chicago, IL. Its 12 degrees, and the parking lot of the All State Arena is full of chants, "Metallica!" "Metallica!" OH home sweet home! It was that time again, 5 excruciating years, the 'Tallica boys were back, and we were ALL ready. As we go into the stadium I start to notcie all the difference sets of equiptment and, caught up in all the excitement, Forgot there were two opening bands. '

The Sword was up first. They rocked that place for the limited size crowd they had. Alot of poeple hang around in the lobbies and drink until Metallica comes on. Well Lars approves, and so do I.

Next up was Machinehead. Their crowd was a litte bigger but alot more rowdy. By that time is was last call on all alcohol so i knew it was just minutes away. Then the lights cut, and on with the show. They rocked through their first two songs, That was Just your Life and End of the Line, in which I am actually suffering from a really sore and kinked neck from going so nuts. I know it sounds really cleshay, but if you saw me now you'd laugh. If throat-ripping could be an adjective, that's how I'd describe the show. After so many years the band can still kick your face in with their music.

Everything from the lighting, the stage lights were giant coffins, to the lasers, to the way James gave his regards and thanks to the city of Chicago. I hope Metallica continues to play deuce sets in Chicago until they cannot play instruments anymore! If anyone is in the midwest area, or father for that matter, I really reccomend catching a Chicago show whenever the next chance happens, there isn't anything else like it!
