The Metallica show at Antwerp Sportpaleis sold out in 15 minutes. After waiting a few houres outside we got inside and managed to get to the front row. Before Metallica hit the stage The Sword & Machine Head played their sets.
At 9.00PM the house lights turn off and the intro started and Metallica walked on stage. Before Lars got to the stage, he gave me his bottle of water. Cool.
The crowd was very loud and there were a few crowdsurfers and a heavy mosh pit. Metallica played a great setlist with a lot of new songs from the latest album Death Magnetic. They mixed in old songs that I have never heard live before. "Holier Than Thou", "Leper Messiah" and "Turn The page".'
After the set they came back on and played 2 more cover songs "Breadfan" & "The Prince".
Can’t wait to see them at Rock Werchter festival 2009. It will be my fifth Metallica show.
