"We always believed in Metallica from their very first krunch," testify Jonny and Marsha Zazula, Megaforce Records co-founders. The label and band shared a symbiotic relationship, each depending on the other for their eventual rise to the big time.
Financing Metallica's chart topping albums, especially "Kill Em All", gave Megaforce the capital and force to add to their budding outfit. Since then, releasing artists such as The Verve, Andrew Bird, The Black Crowes, Willie Nelson & Asleep At The Wheel have called the national music distributor their home.
"I've been around since the beginning of the Metallica and Megaforce days", says Metallica's heavy metal peer Charlie Benante of Anthrax. "The one thing that was always evident was the music, it made you want to get out of your seat and act out."
