==== KIRK RECOVERING FROM EMERGENCY SURGERY ======================
Kirk Hammett is expected to be back in the U.S. this week, after being
rushed to a London hospital over the weekend for an emergency
appendectomy. The guitarist is expected to make a full recovery, and the
incident will not affect Metallica's previously scheduled North American
club tour. The week-long outing is scheduled to kick off next Tuesday in
Toronto at the Warehouse, then move on to the U.S. on Thursday where
Metallica is expected to perform at Chicago+s Aragon Ballroom. 
 


==== JASON ON MTV SOUTH AMERICA ==================================
Well,one of these days, Jason was in Brasil promoting the Garage,Inc., and
MTV Brasil got him to speak some. There were no questions, just him
explaining some stuff. I guess it might'ave been after the gig he did with
Sepultura in São Paulo. Here goes: 

JASON: Metallica has a new album, humm, Garage Incorporated, eleven new
songs, cover songs from, humm, our heroes, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster
Cult, humm, Discharge...so forth with that. (pause) It's a big show up to
some of our heroes, kinda the same thing than Garage Days Re-revisited
before it, humm, putting it up with all the cover songs Metallica has ever
made. (pause) We're gonna do Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston,
Philadelphia, humm, in smaller arenas, well, with, like, 2000, 3000 seats.
(pause) We're gonna put all cover songs. This is THE garage band, THE bar
band Metallica. Never done that before, so... (pause) Bootlegs are usually
fuel to fire, and picked by, only by collectors. Bootlegs don't seem to
affect retail sales. The fans are really into having every single show on
tape. That's basically what it comes down to. It doesn't seem to affect
any regular sales for us or anything like that. (pause) Metallica's hoping
to come perform in, humm, South America about May of next year. If
everything goes like it's supposed to go, we're gonna be doing Brasil, and
kinda new places, Colombia and Venezuela, where we've never played before.

==== BAY AREA TRASHERS ===========================================
Metallica and Creeping Death Music filed a lawsuit on Thursday in the U.S.
Central District Court of California against Outlaw Records, Dutch East
India Trading, Music Boulevard, among others, over the release of a
bootleg album entitled "Bay Area Thrashers: The Early Days."  Metallica
claims that the album was marketed and distributed without their knowledge
or consent and that the album consists of live recordings released and
approved by the band.  The plaintiffs claim that the CD is simply
incomplete demos dating from 1982 that have been altered with the addition
of crowd noise and vocals to make them seem like live recordings.
Metallica is demanding a trial by jury and lists nine complaints in the
suit including unfair competition and various copyright and trademark
infringements. This rare CD can still be bought from CD-NOW. Go to my page

There is now a new CD title for sale at the Metallica shop on my page. It
is called "Garage days Pt. 2", and everyone who has the Garage days CD, or
plans to buy Garage Inc. should have this one too. It is full of rare
recordings, unreleased covers (By Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Misfits etc)
as well as some cool guest musicians. You will also find the rarest
Metallica recording ever here, the rehearsal from Ron's Garage in 1982.

==== METALLICA TV ================================================
On November 18 at 4.30 pm in New York, Metallica will be doing an
appearance on MTV Live. The first 75 fans who E - mailed will be allowed
in the studio to be audience members.  200 people will be outside the
building and free copies of the new Garage Inc. CD will be given out. It
will be a live half hour show with the band, featuring an intimate
atmosphere, an interview, and a trivia contest with some of the people in
attendance.
