==== METALLICA PLANS UNTIL THE YEAR 2000 ==========================

- Metallica will take a few months off at the end of this year (98)

- Then probably re-group again next April (99) and start thinking
  about the next record.

- Metallica is going to go down and tour South America in May (99)

- Then play all of the European festivals in June '99 (including
  Roskilde in Denmark)

- They have also got one other project that they can't really tell
us about yet, but they are going to try and look at doing that for
  April 99.

- Metallica would like to participate in a little event called New
  Year's Eve 1999

- New records will be out in November of 1999 and November of 2000,
because they / Lars like putting out records in November!

==== POLYGRAM PRESS-RELEASE =======================================

I have got an Metallica update from a local PolyGram company today.
Some quotes:

- Metallica will be releasing a two CD set of covers. This will
include all of the groups previously released covers and at least
six new ones recorded specifically for the album. The tittle:
  "Garage days re-released".

- The band will go into the studio at the end of their US tour in
  September to record the tracks.

- Be prepared for surprises... one contender for a Metallica rework is
  Bob Segers Turn The Page!

- The band are also considering the possibility of launch events in the
  US and Europe.

- Working title of the Metallica full length live film is "Shitload".
The film was directed by Wayne Isham, who directed the "Pink Floyd
at Earls Court film - he works for Quentin Tarantinos company.

- Some territories have/are using 35mm copies of the film (aka Poor
Touring Me) to send on national tours of cinemas (this is not the
finished film but a 52 min version).

  Thanks to Marek

==== POLICE MONITOR PHISH CONCERT =================================
(BURGETTSTOWN - REUTERS) -- State police want to make sure concert goers
at the Star Lake amphitheater near Pittsburgh don't break the law. State
troopers, along with state liquor enforcement agents and deputies from the
Washington County Sheriff's office were on hand at last night's concert by
the group Phish. They were on the lookout for underage drinking, public
drunkenness, and drugs. A similar sweep two weeks ago at a Metallica
concert netted 65 arrests.
