==== REVIEW: "THE GARAGE REMAINS THE SAME" =======================
I've seen the cover some where before, its a parody of Led zep's
The song remains same cover cept it has James working under the
hood of a car with his pants showing his arse. The tracks were
recorded in "Pista Atletica, Del Estadio Naccional (sp?its in
Jaymes' scribble), Santiago, Chile May 12 1999"
tracklisting:
1. Breadfan
2. Master Of Puppets
3. Fuel
4. Bleeding Me
5. King Nothing
6. Fight Fire with Fire
Great sound quality, very remnesent of Live Shit, as the crowd speaks
spanish, and the band uses cheesy accents. The only part i didnt like
(and it's me being critical) is the recorded intro to fight fire with
fire, as I think the tonal change between the recording and the live
instruments is terrible. The disc was sent out to platinum members of
the fan club.
The platinum membership occured when the club first restructured
itself with three different membership levels. there was a basic
membership which got you the newsletter and access to the member area
of the website, a gold level with more stuff, and the platinum with a
very very special gift. However, 2 months later they realize that the
gold and platinum were basically the same so they combined them, but
had to forfill the special gift, which they did about seven months
later (the CD). See coverscans of the disc at http://www.encycmet.com
==== LARS IN TENNIS JAM ==========================================
encycmet.com was the first Metallica site to bring you the news
that Lars was going to play (tennis) in a "dream team" at the
"Grand Slam Jam Tennis Shootout" in Austin, TX. Lars teamed up with
John McEnroe as his partner in doubles match. First against tennis
player Jim Courier and REM bassist, Mike Mills and then against
Andre Agassi and Paul O'Neill of the New York Yankees. Of cource,
Lars and John won both maches, but that wasn't the only thing
happening this day
The Grand Slam Jam continued later on that night at "Club Antones"
with a once-in-a-lifetime jam. The band had Lars on drums, John
McEnroe on Guitar/Vocals, Mike Mills on keyboard and Jim Courier on
Guitar. They played for half an hour and jamed songs like "Sweet
Home Alabama" (Lynyrd Skynyrd), "Johnny B. Goode" (Chuck Berry),
Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze" (Hendrix)
If any of you have photos from this day (Not from other sites,
photos taken by you), please send them to me and I'll put them up
here + on the photo archive
