==== KING DIAMOND ABOUT METALLICA =================================
In the March issue of the Dutch metal magazine "Aardschok" is an
interview with King Diamond from Mercyful Fate. He has a comment on
Metallica when they asked him about his beautiful and bad memories
on his long career as musician.

"It was also great to play the Mercyful Fate-medley with Metallica
during one of their concerts! I can remember that we met the boys
for the first time in 1984 when they entered the stage in San
Francisco to headbang with us. Kirk was totally drunk and he dashed
against me. I tripped up by a monitor, lost my balance and fell on
my ass, hahaha".

As we know, Metallicas "Mercyful fate medly" is a part of the Garage
Inc. CD. Lars and James has been fans of the bands since before they
started Metallica.
    Thanks to Ronald

==== A WATERED DOWN METALLICA =====================================
As reported on Blabbermouth.net: Despite MEGADETH guitarist Dave
Mustaine's close links to the METALLICA camp and undeniable
contributions to the latter act's early sound, former Metallica
bassist Jason Newsted has never been particularly impressed with
Mustaine's post-Metallica offerings. In a recent interview with the
Dallas-based Harder Beat, Newsted refers to Megadeth as a "watered-
down Metallica" and implies, in no uncertain terms, that Megadeth
were, in his opinion, nothing more than a pale version of Mustaine's
former group.

"I like Megadeth," Newsted told Harder Beat. "God bless Megadeth.
David Ellefson - one of the best metal bassists there's ever been.
OK, so there's respect there. No problem. And the same with Dave
Mustaine. But Megadeth was a watered-down Metallica.

"I think it's very possible that [Mustaine] wrote those riffs [for
Metallica's early material] when they were in a basement, and they
made it into songs and stuff like that. That's what happens in an
early stage of a band. But he lasted 10 months in Metallica.
Metallica is now in their 21st year. God bless Dave once again, but
he was not Metallica. They were good, but they weren't as good as
Metallica. What would happen if I put out a rap/rock record or a
watered-down Metallica? That would just be so stupid and predictable."
    Thanks to: Blabbermouth.net

==== GOLD DISCS RE-REVISITED ======================================
I am currently working on my second book about Metallica which will
be called "Master of puppets - a classic album", and I have already
done some of the chapters. The book will include interviews with
several people connected to the album, including Steve Hoffman who
remastered the "Master of puppets" gold disc released by DCC.

He also had some good news to tell. "The two CDs, Ride and Master
will be back in the stores again soon, and he hope to work on at
least 3 more Metallica titles. These CDs printed on 24 karat gold
discs not only look good, they have a much better sound as well."
