==== SITE NEWS ====================================================
Encyclopedia Metallica has been online since early 1996 and are 
still alive and kicking. This week I have been working to upgrade 
the message forum. I checked the old forum, and after 474332 posts 
it was about time to upgrade. The new BBS is one of the most popular 
parts of the site where you can meet other fans just like you to 
discuss the big M. I will monitor the forums the following weeks to 
see if there are any changes needed to be done. See it all here:

The guitar, bass and drum tabs will also be re-introduced this

If you've been checking out Metallica merchandise on Metallica.com,
you may have noticed that the store looks a little different these 
days. Well, they have moved! Now when you order your Metalligoods 
online, your orders will be sent by a company called Musictoday - 
same great stuff, same great service, but the store e-mail newsletter 
will no longer exist. 

I just browsed the new shop, and it is just so cool, with many 
unique items you can not find anywhere else. I also added it to my

==== RELEASE DATES ================================================
The album Metallica are recording in the studio right now had a 
"late 2002 / early 2003" release date. It now seems that it will not 
be released before next year, as the official online shop writes in 
their latest newsletter: ".... and we all look forward to the new 
record in 2003!". Lars also stated in a video on the Jump in the 
fire website that it will be on the streets before July next year. 
The magic date will be between January and July 2003. Sorry, I can 
not give you a more detailed date than that as it doesn't excist. I 
will post the final date here as soon as I know. 

The next song by Metallica however will see the light of day on CD 
this year, just in time to land under a christmas tree near you. The 
release date for the Ramones tribute CD featuring "53rd & 3rd" 
played by Metallica will be in stores at the 24th of December. Other 
bands on the disc will be Kiss, Rob Zombie, U2, Marilyn Manson and 
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
