==== SOUNDTRACK TO BE WRITTEN =====================================
Metallica is working on a song for the sequel to the 1996 box office smash
"Mission: Impossible", which is expected in theaters during 2000.
Jason Newsted told Wall of sound that the song has been written but is
still very much in its formative stages. "It's about two and a half days
old," Newsted says. "Everybody's still trying to get the feel of it.
There's two different versions of it; we're trying to figure out exactly
what way we want to go with it". More info at http://www.encycmet.com

==== ALBUM REVIEW =================================================
- Die Krupps: A Tribute to Metallica
- 1993, Hollywood Records.
- Produced by: John Fryer With Jurgen Engler & Chris Lietz.
This CD is by a german computer/tecno band playing nothing but Metallica
songs
Well I got this cd back around Christmas of '97. I never listened to
it much cause it repulsed me the first time I listened to it. So I
put it away in my Metallica collection. It sat for awhile and I decided to
listen to it again. Upon listening to it, I started to like it less. It is
by far the worst Metallica tribute in my opinion. Everything on it sounds
like it is in a Midi format. They completely hacked up some really great
songs. True, it is a Metallica Tribute, but not worth having. Its all
synthesized and computerized. Not at all worth spending the 15 bucks for. I
would highly recommend you skip this CD and go for the Apocalyptica
Metallica tribute.
Track list for Die Krupps: A Tribute to Metallica

2: Nothing ELse Matters (6:06"

==== JASON ABOUT THE NEXT ALBUM ===================================
Jason told Wall of sound that the group is champing at the bit to get to
work on a new album, which should happen during early May, probably after
Hetfield's wife gives birth to the couple's second child.
"We haven't been able to sit down, actually, and write music together for
an album for, in a long time," Newsted says. "It's been five years since
we did that. It'll be cool to see what happens, what people come in with.
A lot has happened in the last five years for everybody — kids coming in,
changes in the way we look at things. And I think that if the three songs
we've written this year for Metallica [including two for the S&M project]
are any indicators of what is to come, I have a lot of confidence in the
potential and a lot of excitement about what's going to come out." More
