For all the collectors out there, Several new promotional CDs has been
released from the S&M album. All rare CDs can be ordered from Esprit 

S&M Sampler 
US 5-trk promo sampler CD including Fuel, For Whom the Bell Tolls, One,
Hero of the Day and Bleeding Me all recorded with the San Francisco

Good news, but maybe not Metallica related, but me and my wife just got a
daughter :-). Her name will be Frøya (Froeya) and I have already bought
her a Metallica T-shirt. A Kill 'em all shirt extra extra extra small.

already (It is almost killing me), but a postcard to us would be very

==== YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT "S&M" ====================================
Instead of reviewing the S&M album myself I have collected some thoughts
from the message board on my site. I feel that I say too much already, and
comments from 10 visitors to my site must be worth 10 times a review by
me. The Message board is very popular these days, with more than 300 new
messages a day. Go there and discuss with other Metallica fans

what a sound, better than any other studio or live album yet - rich 

Okay! I'm sick of tired of the same old Metallica songs! They kick ass but
if heard them five billion trillion times they get boring - Hetfield 

I think the orchestra in fact adds power to many songs - Big Jared

I don't understand y people are complaining about S&M! The Orchestra
sounds awesome and adds so much to the songs - Curly 

I think S&M is great. If you ask me, it's a step towards greater

==== GIG REPORT ===================================================
I have added two new gig reports on http://www.encycmet.com. One for the
European show, and one from New York. They were too long for the
newsletter (sorry) but you can still see them on the newspage complete
with tracklistings etc.

NEW YORK 23 Nov
Although the concert was amazing there were some faults. One of the main
faults was that it needed to be louder.

GERMANY 19 Nov
A few times the orchestra had trouble keeping up with Lars, but they
managed to catch the groove quickly, and the openings to "One" and
"Battery" were tight and mean.

==== ENHANCED CD OF "NOTHING ELSE MATTERS" ========================
There is a Limited Edition enhanced S&M single coming out in Australia on
Jan 4. It is Nothing Else Matters, with For Whom the Bell Tolls and -
Human, along with a video recording of Nothing Else Matters from the S&M
concert. The Australian record company is very good when it comes to
enhanced CDs, nowhere else do they release so many singles with videos. 




==== METALLICA SHOPS ==============================================
I have updated the "Metallica shops" page on my site. This is the place to
start when you will buy CDs, t-shirts, rarities, sheet music and
tablatures, posters or whatever. I will also recommend Esprits' online

==== "S&M" LIMITED EDITION VERSION IN MEXICO ======================
I just want to tell you that the S&M CD, went on sale Friday in Mexico
city by a store called: mix-up. They sold a limited edition of 1000 CDs
with printed signatures of all 4 members of Metallica in silver colour on
the cover, over the pentagram with the S&M logo. The record company said
this edition is only for Mexico in 1000 copies

==== WEEKLY SURVEY ================================================
I have already updated the survey on my site, and last week we asked, "How
many times have you seen the band live?" I was shocked that 41% of my
visitors never had been to a Metallica gig. I saw them for the first time
in 1988 and it has been some shows since that. If you get the chance, see
them! Here are the results
   Never: 41.65%
   Once: 30.12%
   Twice: 10.12%
   5 times or more: 8.00%
   3 times: 7.06%
   4 times: 3.06%
