Epic will release a double CD & a Home Video from Historic Festival Due

Woodstock Festival will be featured on a double live album and

the disc, but a live version of "For whom the bell tolls" is on the
Woodstock 1994 CD
==== REVIEW ========================================================
TITLE: Master of Puppets - Gold
INFO: Re-release with gold surface
Another edition of Master of Puppets had been released. DCC Compact
Classics tracked down the original masters tapes from the Puppets
recording session and remastered them onto a new digital format. They
then printed this album on a 24 karat gold CD and packaged it with a
reprint of the liner notes from the original Puppets Vinyl album (which
looks a bit different from the CD Jacket we're all used to.
The sound quality on this disc is incredible! Believe it or not, the
manufacturing process they used actually makes the sound clearer. When
I put it in and Battery started, I swear, I could hear each individual
string, crystal clear. An extremely high quality rarity, I found it
well worth the 30 bucks I spent. This is the only one I've seen, and
I'm sure I'll be lucky to ever see another, so please, if you ever see a
gold edition Metallica CD, pick it up, it's more than worth it!

==== METALLICAS ALBUMS =============================================
BY: JaymzSoFnWhat@webtv.net
KILL EM ALL
was consider one of the best by most serious thrash metal fans, and its
over all sound I think is heavy influenced by Dave Mustaine. The songs and
lyrics sound allot like early Megadeth and Dave has said that they ripped
him off on that one and he said he admires James for doing it so well. The
band weren't allowed in the room when they were mixing the album, they
were locked out. They wouldn't let them in because they felt it would take
to long and when James first heard the album he said he thought it sounded
like shit. Cliff and Kirk joined the band right before the recording and
weren't an influence on it really that much.
RIDE THE LIGHTNING
Most real fans of Metallica love this one. James and Lars both say its
their favourite the main difference between Kill and Ride is Cliff and
Kirk who brought a whole diversity and new musical edge to the whole
thing. We wanted to try some different things, not to play whiplash all
the time. We were really proud of the way ride came out. We were really
thrilled with the sound.
MASTER OF PUPPETS
This is, as you know a super record so uh. Orion is bits and pieces of
other songs thrown together. The bluesy moody part in the middle was the
tail end of another song, but they felt it was so strong that they could
use it as a basis for an instrumental. Because of no financial
restrictions on this one, they could spend as much time in the studio as
they wanted to perfect the sound. They would sometimes spend one or two
days just trying to get the right guitar sound for a specific part of a
song. Lars: I remember being proud of that song sanitarim, and James
singing an actual melody on it. This was the album that took Metallica to
a new level.
AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
The fucking thing took 2 years to make. JAMES: 1990 were gonna call it
wild chicks fast cars and lots of drugs. Lars: 1988 we probably could have
made another 12 songs out of the riffs on that one just spread them out a
little. It's a very bleak album and I see now this is the one we took to
far. The songs are to progressive and drown out, but when they made it and
that's what they wanted to do. It's just the one that's aged least well
but I'm still amazed at some of the playing on it. I think they made the
mistake of going back to the same producer after the lose of cliff. That's
why they switched to Bob Rock for the black album. I read Kirk said on the
last night of the justice tour he heard someone say thank god we don't
ever have to play that song again. And its ironic that their worst
material put them on top, and their first video one is introduced.
Lyrically this is one my favourites
METALLICA:
Lars: I've heard Bon Jovi this and that, but Bob Rock has got an
incredible ear for attitude and feeling. Now that we've worked with him on
pre-production he got us kicking our selves for not trying stuff sooner.
We took allot of chances on that one with James singing, and clear guitar
picking and stuff people weren't expecting. It shows a different side to
Metallica. This album is very unified, and we worked really hard to get
that point across. This is the new Metallica finally getting on its feet.
They made more money on this one. Toured longer, really got some major
exposure and learned a hell of allot. James kept his drinking a little
more under control for the first time in his life and as you know
eventually quit.
LOAD AND RELOAD
Lars: Either you like our music or you don't, I do. Some people don't like
them but I love them maybe because I've grown up with Metallica and have
changed like they have. I like it heavy, dark, and intense but it don't
have to be at 1000 mph either. People that whine about these albums don't
really understand what Metallica is all about or where they're coming
from, and they shouldn't call them selves Metallica fans either. They are
just Metallica critics and we don't need that!
