I just wanted to give my own review of the Australian Whiskey singles,
since the rest of the world missed out on them.
 
Might I first say that Metallica's singles have always been something I
can't wait for to come out. Its really not the title song either, its the
bonus tracks. In the past metallica have done themselves proud with
singles like "Unforgiven II". These 3 parts contained
live tracks recorded at there Re-load promo gig (at the 100 club, UK).
If you were lucky enough to obtain the promo single for re-load you have
basically the entire concert (barring one song. Fuel)
 
I thought this was  good, but the whiskey australian singles are so much
better. Discs 1 and 2 contain footage recorded during the making of garage
inc (in the studio, and also photo shoots). This is so cool, we dedicated
fans have not had a chance to see this kind of footage since the "year and
a half -part 1" video. 

Watching Jaymz close up, laying the riffs for turn the page is truly as
sight to behold, he is in my mind, a true inspiration and a legend. This
footage is interspersed with an interview with an Australian presenter,
Ian "Molly" Meldrum. Its a top class interview, with the band explaining
there influences and so on.

Disc 3 is 5 live tracks recorded at the Roseland Ballroom for the Garage
Inc Promo tour. Unfortunately we in Aussie missed out on one of the live
tracks that are on the UK version (Blitzkreig), but I ordered the UK
versions anyway.
 
This set is obviously a must for any Metalli-collector (thats why i have 3
sets), and equally brilliiant for all fans alike.

Recording Industry Honors Top-Selling Albums of All Time; First-Ever
'Diamond Award' Bestowed at Star-Studded Ceremony
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Mars the 16th raised
the standard of excellence in record sales by unveiling the Diamond(TM)
Award at a star-studded ceremony in honor of the top-selling sound
recordings of all time. The event was held at New York City's Roseland
Ballroom.

As the next quantum achievement in the music industry, the Diamond Award
recognizes U.S. sales of an astonishing 10 million units for a single
title. Until today, the RIAA has only presented record sales awards for
Gold (500,000 units), Platinum (1 million units) and Muti-PlatinumŪ (2
million or more units). The Diamond Award was bestowed for the first time
by the RIAA to the biggest names in the music industry, a 
Diamond mine''
of musical talent -- 46 recording artists representing 62 titles.

Artists from every genre of music were on hand at Roseland to accept their
Diamond Awards including Metallica for their black album. James Hetfield
thanked producer Bob Rock "for making the big noises extra big."

Metallica is sponsoring a Ice-hockey mach to the "Leksand" team. "This
must be the first time a supergroup like this is sponsoring a hockey team"
says Niklas Rune, product manager at universal/polygram in Sweden, "But it
is cool!". Metallica is all time hockey fans
